To set up an account, contact your nearest Dulux store.  If your co-op already has a Dulux account, you can use this voucher  for purchases.  If your co-op provides a paint allowance for members, you can give this voucher to your members with the appropriate information filled in.  Members take it to a Dulux store to pick up their paint directly – and the co-op receives the invoice.  If your co-op does not provide a paint allowance, your members can still take this voucher to a Dulux store and get the program discount but pay on their own.

Plus, now there is an Energy Rebate available when you buy and install Safe-T-elements on existing stoves or purchase new ones with Safe-T-elements already installed.  Safe-T-element was originally developed to prevent cooking fires.  But in addition to safety, they provide energy savings AND protect stove tops from wear and tear.  Your co-op may be eligible for up to 50% rebate on the purchase and installation of Safe-T-elements.  You may have to purchase and install a minimum number of STE’s in order to qualify for this rebate.  To find out more about the rebate, contact Laird Comber of STE and he will provide details and help with the application.  Laird’s email is lcomber@pioneeringtech.com.

The focus of pest control over the past few years has been on bed bugs.  A few years ago, I would receive daily phone calls from co-ops about bed bugs.  But that has changed.  Awareness, education, and expert treatment options, has reduced the number and severity of infestations.  In the past year, there have been fewer calls about bed bugs.  And although they may not be gone for good, we have seen that it is possible to manage them effectively.  The key to any kind of pest control is to encourage members to come forward, without judgment, stigma or penalty.  And then call in the experts.

Researchers think it’s because roaches became resistant to the attractants used in roach bait.  This is called ‘aversion’.  Even their offspring are resistant.

CFL’s are Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs that use less energy. They save $30 or more per bulb a year. You may have heard in the news that some CFL’s pose a fire hazard. This is why it’s important to buy them from a reliable source.
